Day 6 – The Cross and the Crown
John 19:15 — “We have no king but Caesar.”
The crowd that once shouted Hosanna now bowed to Caesar. In their desperation, they traded the Messiah for a mandate.
That’s what fear does — it makes us choose visible crowns over invisible kingdoms.
Throughout history, churches have been tempted to trade conviction for comfort — to blend with the state, to silence the Gospel in exchange for safety. But every compromise costs a cross.
When Caesar reaches for the cross, the Church must remember: our King wore thorns, not gold. His throne was wood, not marble.
Reflection:
You cannot serve two kings — one will always silence the other.
๐ Action Step:
Pray that the Church in our nation will wear Christ’s crown, not Caesar’s favor.
Ask God to purify our motives — to seek righteousness, not relevance.
