Good morning everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
One of these days I will learn that my body reacts to sleep aids differently than my husband. That man can take a bazillion or just one and he will not fall asleep. I take one, I am out. To enhance the quickness of me falling to sleep, I took two tablets and then the NyQuil to settle my throat. I fell asleep alright … haha. I don’t think I moved all night. Now mind you, it was quality sleep. Restful sleep. The kind of sleep you don’t want to leave … no matter how badly you must potty. That good kind of sleep. However, now I am going to have to drink sufficient caffein to wipe out the sleep so I can go to work. Haha.
Today is marked out to be a Tetris kind of day. I am down one rural route and one city route. So a little bit of extra work from my carriers will be needed. City side will be a cake walk, but the rural side can be a little more Tetrisy. This will be a great learning experience for my trainee. I let him know yesterday that this whole next week, the floor is his. I will be playing on my phone or drinking a lot of coffee. Haha. Instant ‘OH’ read across his face, but his confidence started to get that ‘Challenge Accepted’ vibe.
Have you ever had that feeling that you were cut loose from the Holy Spirit to do as he was leading and he was just sitting back there drinking coffee and playing on his phone? First you are like, yes…I can do this. Next you get two steps in and are like, I am not sure I can do this, did I hear Him right? Followed by what have I gotten myself into. With a quick, maybe I can do this. Ending with, ‘Challenge Accepted/completed’.
I know that I have had several encounters like this. One of which is my writing. Another is reaching out to strangers just to make them smile. It is not uncommon for the above to transition during a new encounter. Especially if it is one out of your comfort zone.
The enemy will use whatever he needs in an attempt to derail you and your progress. Where he does not know everything, as God does, he knows that if you are on a godly path, he is in trouble. So…faring on the cautious side of his realm, he will throw you difficulties and doubt. He will use logic and what appears to be common sense. He will paint a pretty picture and justify why you should quit. He knows that what you are doing is bad for his business and he doesn't like it.
When the Holy Spirit gives you a new assignment, grab ahold and tell the enemy “Watch This!”. Run straight ahead with the power of the Almighty and win that race. Ignore the detours and setbacks and press on towards the end. You were chosen for this path for a reason. God knows it. I know it. The enemy knows it too. You were handpicked to be the enemy’s thorn. Stand firm.
Be blessed today my friends.
