Acts 16:30-34 "Sirs, what do I have to do to be saved, to really live?" Message
Acts 16:30-34 He led them out of the jail and asked,
Question in the Bible
"Sirs, what do I have to do to be saved, to really live?"
Answer in the Bible
They said, "Put your entire trust in the Master Jesus. Then you'll live as you were meant to live-- and everyone in your house included!"
They went on to spell out in detail the story of the Master--the entire family got in on this part,
They never did get to bed that night. The jailer made them feel at home, dressed their wounds, and then--he couldn't wait till morning--was baptized, he and everyone in his family.
There in his home, he had food set out for a festive meal. It was a night to remember; He and his entire family had put their trust in God; everyone in the house was in on the celebration.
Acts 2:36-39 "All Israel, then, know this; There's no longer room for doubt--God made him Master and Messiah, this Jesus whom you killed on a cross."
Cut to the quick, those who are were there listening asked Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers! Brothers! So now what do we do?"
Peter said, "Change your life. Turn to God and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, so you sins are forgiven. Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
The promise is targeted to you and your children, but also to all who are far away--whomever, in fact, our Master God invites."
