Romans 15:14-21 Exploring RSV
Romans 15:14-21 I myself am satisfied about you, my brethren, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, and able to instruct one another.
But on some points I have written to you very boldly by way of reminder, because of the grace given me by God
to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God so that the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
In Christ Jesus, then, I have reason to be proud of my work for God.
For I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has wrought through me to win obedience from the Gentiles, by word of deed,
by the power of the Holy Spirit, so that from Jerusalem and as far round as Illyr'i-cum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ, thus making it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on another man's foundation,
but as it is written, "They shall see who have never been told of him, and they shall understand, who have never heard of him."
Ephesians 1:15-19 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints,
I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers,
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him,
having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power in us who believe, according to the working of his great might
Romans 11:13-14 Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry
in order to make my fellow Jews jealous, and thus save some of them.
1 Corinthians 1:26-31 For consider your call, brethren; not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth;
but God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong,
God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,
so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.
He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, whom God made our wisdom, our righteousness and sanctification and redemption;
therefore, as it is written, "Let him who boasts, boast of the Lord."
Acts 15:12 And all the assembly kept silence; and they listened to Bar'na-bas and Paul as they related what signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles.
Acts 21:18-21 On the following day Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders were present.
After greeting them, he related by one the things that God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.
And when they heard it, they glorified God. And they said to him, "You see, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews of those who have believed; they are all zealous for the law,
and they have been told about you that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or observe the customs.
Acts 2:18-21 yea, and on my menservants and maidservants in those days I will pour out my Spirit; and they shall prophesy.
And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
the sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and manifest day.
And it shall be that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.'
Isaiah 52:13-15 Behold, my servant shall prosper, he shall be exalted and lifted up, and shall be very high.
As many were astonished at him--his appearance was so marred, beyond human semblance, and his form beyond that of the sons of men--
so shall he startle many nations; kings shall shut their mouths because of him; for that which has not been told them they shall see, and that which has not heard they shall understand.
