The Revelation of God’s Nature in His Word

Scripture:
“Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
— 1 Peter 1:16

Insight:
When God commands us not to sin, not to kill, not to commit evil, and to live righteously and holy, etc. He is not merely setting moral rules — He is revealing His nature to us. His laws are a reflection of His character. In every divine instruction, He unveils who He is, inviting us to share in His nature and likeness.

“According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature...”
— 2 Peter 1:3–4

Reflection:
To live by God’s Word and truth is to live in the consciousness of His divine nature. Every act of obedience draws us nearer to His heart and transforms us into His image.

Holiness, therefore, is not just a command — it is a revelation of God Himself within us. When we walk in His truth, we are not striving to be good by our strength; we are manifesting His life, His purity, and His essence. In His Word, we behold not only His will but His very person.

“And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
— Ephesians 4:24

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing Yourself through Your Word. Teach me to see Your heart in every command and to walk in Your truth daily. Let Your holiness be formed in me until Your life is fully expressed through mine.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reality:
“Holiness is not an obligation to please God but a revelation of God being formed in us.”
