Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Thirty-four years ago yesterday, I made a commitment to a wonderful man. Yesterday, that wonderful man made me smile widely. That beautiful and handsome man sent me flowers for our anniversary. A wondiferous spray of love. I suppose I will have to keep him around for a few more years … like at least another fifty. I am certain we were placed together to showcase how love works … to highlight difficult times yet not fall apart.

Sometimes God gives us, what we think are, impossible tasks. And when we try to do them in our own strength, they are just that … impossible. Let me give you a couple of examples.

First, I have the attention span of a baby gnat. Yep, that big. Most things in life are like “oh squirrel” to me. And I can forget just as quickly what the original topic or situation was. Like, totally forget. Why, on earth, would He give me the talent of writing books? To write a book takes mega concentration and focus … not exactly my strong suit. Until…

Second, I get so hyper-focused on things that I cannot let go of them until they are absolutely completed. Nothing else matters. No one else matters. I will be as firm and headstrong as necessary to get the job done. No distraction has a chance.

Two completely different personalities stuck within one person. The interesting part is this: they do not collide. I am either one or the other. Only God could make this work. Only God could orchestrate such a chaotic conundrum that works in sync with one another. Only God.

When I write in the morning, it is my daily routine and whatever weird story pops into my head to compare to our walk is what I run with. Most mornings, however, it is not just a sit and type and print and post. It is type, scroll, type, drink, type, look out the window, type, what is the dog into now. That very much is how my morning typing goes. However, when I go to type on my stories, the first draft usually comes out within an hour or two…straight typing. Hyper focused.

At work, I can be working on 12 different things at once and be completely in sync with what it is I am doing. OR. I can be stuck on one thing, and until I get that one thing done, nothing else matters. When I am in that focused arena, I can be quite rude and insensitive to those around me. My focus is hardcore on point.

God gave me two completely opposite focus points to show how two completely opposite focus points can indeed work in harmony. There are many people that I encounter throughout the day that I do not see eye to eye with on every topic. We are, in essence, completely opposite focus points. Neither is right, nor is wrong, we are just opposite. But we find a common ground to work well together on.

Just because the views are different, does not mean that the work that you were placed there to do cannot get done. It just means that you were placed there to grow and to help others grow. If we all had the same personality and work ethic, and desires, this world would be so boring. Fortunately, that is not the case. When we make the choice to follow Him, we are making the choice to let the two completely opposite personalities co-exist and work together.

Today I want to encourage you to go to Him and ask him to expose those personalities that you need help in addressing. Then ask Him to paint you an easy picture to follow, so as to be a faithful servant. Then the difficult part … executing His directions to you. Though it is hard and will probably go against your very nature, I promise you the work is well worth it in the end. Take a few moments with Him today and find that path you are avoiding, then take a leap of faith and watch the wondifersous spray of love that will be the result.

Be blessed today my friends.

***Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in the view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship. – Romans 12:1
