THE ADVENT TRUTH
Most Protestants think they keep Sunday because of Jesus’ resurrection. But history—and the Church of Rome herself—say otherwise.
Father Enright, a Catholic priest, admitted:
“It was the Holy Catholic Church that changed the day of rest from Saturday to Sunday, the first day of the week. And it not only compelled all to keep Sunday, but urged all persons to labor on the seventh day under pain of anathema. Protestants… profess great reverence for the Bible, and yet by their solemn act of keeping Sunday, they acknowledge the power of the Catholic Church.”
Let that sink in. The Catholic Church openly claims authority above Scripture—boasting that Sunday observance is the mark of that authority. It was not commanded by Christ, nor by the apostles. The change came through human tradition, not divine command.
When Protestants worship on Sunday, they unknowingly follow Rome’s tradition, not the Bible’s instruction. The Bible says:
“The seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God.” – Exodus 20:10
“From one Sabbath to another shall all flesh come to worship before Me, saith the Lord.” – Isaiah 66:23
“Think not that I am come to destroy the law… till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law.” – Matthew 5:17–18
The Catholic Church changed the day to assert that her authority stands above Scripture. And every Protestant who keeps Sunday instead of Saturday silently agrees with that claim.
The question isn’t just which day you worship—but whose authority you recognize: the Word of God or the word of man.
Bible prophecy warned that the beast would “think to change times and laws” (Daniel 7:25). And today, nearly the whole Christian world follows that change.
It’s time to return to the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus (Revelation 14:12).
