1 Peter 1:1-12 KJV
1 Peter 1:1-12 Peter, an apostle of Je'-sus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pon'-tus, Ga-la'-tia, Cap-pa-do'-ci-a, A'-sia, and Bi-thyn'-ia.
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Je'-sus Christ; Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Je'-sus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Je'-sus Christ from the dead,
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations;
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Je'-sus Christ;
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory;
Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you.
Searching what, or what matter of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
James 1:1-8 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Je'-sus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Hebrews 11:1-3 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.
For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Romans 1:7-8 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints; Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Je'-sus Christ.
First, I thank my God through Je'sus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the the whole world.
Ephesians 1:3-10 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Je'-sus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ;
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love;
Having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Je'-sus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself;
That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him;
