1 Peter 2:1-10 NKJV


1 Peter 2:1-10 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,

as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,

if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious,

you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, "Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame."

Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,  "The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone."

and "A stone of stumbling And a rock of offense." They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.

But you area chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

Hebrews 12:1-3 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of out faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God,

For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and and discouraged in your souls.

You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.

1 Corinthians 3:1-9 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.

I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able;

for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?

For when one says, "I am of Paul," and another, "I am of Apollos," are you not carnal?

Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one?

I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.

So than neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.

Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building.

Hebrews 6:4-6 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,

and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,

if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.

Isaiah 28:16-19 Therefore thus says the Lord God;

"Behold, I lay in Zion a stone fro a foundation, A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; Whoever believes will not act hastily.

also I will make justice the measuring line, And righteousness the plummet; The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, And the waters will overflow the hiding place.

Your covenant with death will be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol will not stand; When the overflowing scourge passes through, Then you will be trampled down by it.

As often as it goes out it will take you; For morning by morning it will pass over, And by day and by night; It will be a terror just to understand the report."
