“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12

Thought Of The Day...
Life presents us with countless paths, each one inviting us with promises of success, happiness, or fulfillment. Yet, not every path that seems right is truly right. Proverbs 14:12 is a sobering reminder that our human understanding is limited and often deceived by emotions, pride, and worldly influence.
The verse warns us that what “seems right” to our natural mind may actually lead us to spiritual destruction. It’s not always the clearly evil paths that are most dangerous—it’s the ones that look good, feel right, and seem reasonable without God’s guidance.
Many have followed what appeared to be the right relationship, career move, or moral choice, only to find themselves empty, broken, and far from God’s will. This is why we must constantly seek divine direction. Our wisdom can take us only so far—but God’s wisdom leads us into life and peace.
Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
When we rely on the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, our steps are established in truth. God’s path may not always look easy or logical, but it always leads to eternal life and blessing.
Prayer...
Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your Word that lights our path and keeps us from going astray. Forgive us for the times we’ve trusted in our own understanding instead of seeking Your wisdom. Teach us to discern Your will in every decision we make.
Lord, when a way seems right in our eyes, give us the humility to pause and seek Your counsel. Lead us by Your Spirit into paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake.
We surrender our plans, our desires, and our ways to You. Order our steps, O God, so that we walk in truth, not deception. May every choice we make bring glory to Your name and life to our souls.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Something to Think About...
• Are there any areas in your life where you’ve been leaning on your own understanding instead of God’s direction?
• What steps can you take today to seek God’s guidance before making important decisions?
• How can you learn to recognize the difference between what seems right and what is right according to God’s Word?)
