Galatians 5:1 Bondage NKJV
Luke 1:26-33 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,
to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name is Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary.
And having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!"
But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was.
Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
"And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS.
"He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.
"And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end."
Matthew 20:20-28 Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Him, with her sons, kneeling down and asking something from Him.
And He said to her, "What do you wish?" She said to Him, "Grant that these two sons of mine may sit one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your Kingdom."
But Jesus answered and said, "You do not know what you ask; Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" They said to Him, "We are able."
So He said to them, "You will indeed drink My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with, but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared by My Father."
And when the ten heard it, they were greatly displeased with the two brothers.
But Jesus called them them to Himself and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them.
'Yet it shall be not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant,
'And whoever desires to be first among you. let him be your slave--
"just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
Romans 8:12-17 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors--not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.
For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
