THE ADVENT TRUTH
It’s interesting how men like John MacArthur will preach with passion about the cross, but when it comes to God’s commandments, they recycle the same tired excuses. He claims things like the early church kept Sunday. Yet the Bible shows otherwise.

The Sabbath was given at creation before there was a Jew (Genesis 2:2–3). Jesus said it was made for man (anthropos) —all humanity—not just Israel (Mark 2:27). The Ten Commandments aren’t Jewish laws, they are God’s laws written by His own finger, eternal and unchanging (Exodus 31:18; Malachi 3:6).

And the dietary laws? Those weren’t ceremonial shadows pointing to Christ. God gave them for our health and holiness (Leviticus 11; Deuteronomy 14). Even Isaiah prophesied that at the end of time, God will judge those who ignore His clear instructions—including eating swine’s flesh (Isaiah 66:15–17). That’s not “legalism.” That’s love—because our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19–20).

The real issue here is about whether you love Jesus enough to obey Him. Christ said, “If you love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). Sadly, many teachers today repeat Satan’s first lie: “You shall not surely die” (Genesis 3:4), twisting God’s Word to make people feel comfortable in disobedience.

God is calling us out of man-made traditions, and back to His Word. The question is—will we follow Christ or the crowd?
