Amos 1:6-8 Thus says the Lord; "For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment; Because they took captive the whole captivity To deliver them up to Edom.
But I will send a fire upon the wall of Gaza, Which shall devour its palaces.
I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, And the one who holds the scepter from Ashkelon; I will turn My hand against Ekron, And the remnant of the Philistines shall perish," Says the Lord God.
Jeremiah 47:1-7 The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before Pharaoh stacked Gaza.
Thus says the Lord; "Behold, waters rise out of the north, And shall be an overflowing flood; They shall overflow the land and all that is in it, The city and those who dwell within; Them the men shall cry, And all the inhabitants of the land shall wail.
At the noise of the stamping hooves of his strong horses, At the rushing of his chariots, At the rumbling of his wheels, The fathers will not look back for their children, Lacking courage,
Because of the day that comes to plunder all the Philistines. To cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper who remains; For the Lord shall plunder the Philistines, "The remnant of the country of Caphtor.
Baldness has come upon Gaza, Ashkelon is cut off With the remnant of their valet. How long will you cut yourself?
O you sword of the Lord, How long until you are quiet? Put yourself up into your scalp bars, Rest and be still!
How can it be quiet, Seeing the Lord's given it a charge Against Ashkelon and against the seashore? There He has appointed it."
Zephaniah 2:1-7 Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, O undesirable nation,
Before the decree is issued, Or the day passes like chaff, Before the lord's fierce anger comes upon you! Before the day of the Lord's anger comes upon you!
Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld Hia justice, Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden Im the day of the Lord's anger.
For Gaza shal be forsaken, And Ashkelon desolate; They shall drive out Ashdod at noonday, And Ekron shall be uprooted.
Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast, The nation of the Cherethites! The word of the Lors is against you, O Canaan, land of he Philistines; "I will destroy you; So there shall be no inhabitant."
The seacoast shall be pastures, With shelters for shepherds and folds for flocks.
The coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; They shall feed their flocks there; In the houses of Ashkelon they shall lie down at evening, For the Lord their God will intervene for them, And return their captives.
Psalm 81:8-16 "Hear, O My people, and I will admonish you! O Israel, if you will listen to Me!
There shall be no foreign God among you, Nor shall you worship any foreign god.
I am the Lord your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
But My people would not heed My voice, And Israel would have none of Me.
So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, To walk in their own counsels.
Oh, that's people would listen to Me, That Israel would walk in My ways!
I would soon subdue their enemies, And turn My hand against their adversaries.
The haters of the Lord would pretend submission to Him, But their fate would endure forever.
He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat; And with honey from the rock I would have satisfied you."
Ezekiel 25:15-17 Thus says the Lord God, "Because the Philistines dealt vengeful land took vengeance with a spiteful heart, to destroy because of the old hatred."
'therefore thus says the Lord God; "I will stretch out My hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites and destroy the remnant of the seacoast.
"I will execute great vengeance on them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I lay My vengeance upon them."'
