Amos 6:8-14 NKJV

Amos 6:8-14 The Lord God has sworn by Himself, The LORD God of hosts says; "I abhor the pride of Jacob, And hate his palaces; Therefore I will deliver up the city And all that is in it"

Then it shall come to pass, that if ten men remain in one house, they shall die.

And when a relative of the dead, with one who will burn the bodies, picks up the bodies to take them out of the house, he will say to one inside the house, "Are there any more with you?"  Then someone will say, "None." And he will say, "Hold your tongue! For we dare not mention the name of the LORD."

For behold, the LORD gives a command; He will break house into bits, And the little house into pieces.

Do horses run on rocks? Does one plow there with oxen? Yet you have tuned justice into gall, And the fruit of righteousness inot wormwood, You who rejoice over Lo Debar, Who say, "Have we not taken Karnaim for ourselves By our own strength?"

"But, behold, I will raise up a nation against you, O house of Israel," says the LORD GOD of hosts; "And they will afflict you from the entrance of Hamath To the Valley of the Arabah."

Jeremiah 51:1-32 Thus says the LORD; "Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, Against those who dwell in Leb Kamai, A destroying wind.

And I will send winnowers to Babylon, Who shall winnow her and empty her land. For in the day of doom They shall be against her all around.

Against her let the archer bend her bow, And lift himself up against her in his armor. Do not spare her young men; Utterly destroy all her army.

Thus the slain shall fall in the land of the Chaldeans, And those thrust through in her streets.

For Israel is not forsaken, nor Judah, By his God, the LORD of hosts, Thought their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel."

Flee from the midst of Babylon, And every one save his life! Do not be cut off in her iniquity, For this is the time of the LORD's vengeance; He shall recompense her.

Babylon was a golden cup in the LORD's hand, That made all the earth drunk. The nations drank her wine; Therefore the nations are deranged.

Babylon has suddenly fallen and been destroyed.  Wail for her! Take balm for her pain; Perhaps she may be healed.

We would have healed Babylon, But she is not healed. Forsake her, and let us go everyone to his own country; For her judgement reaches to heaven and is lifted up to the skies.

The LORD has revealed our righteousness. Come and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God.

Make the arrows bright! Gather the shields! The LORD has raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes. For His plan is against Babylon to destroy it, Because it is the vengeance of the LORD, The vengeance for His temple.

Set up the standard of the walls of Babylon; Make the guard strong, Set up the watchmen, Prepare the ambushes.

For the LORD has both devised and done What He spoke against the inhabitants of Babylon.

O you who dwell by any waters, Abundant in treasures, Your end has come, The measure of your covetousness.

The LORD of hosts has sworn by Himself; "Surely I will fill you with men, as with locusts, And they shall lift up a shout against you."

He has made the earth by His power; He has established the world by His wisdom, And stretched out the heaven by His understanding.

When He uttered His voice--There is a multitude of waters in the heavens; "He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightnings for the rain; He brings the winds out of His treasures."

Everyone is dull-hearted, without knowledge; Every metalsmith is put to shame by the carved image; For his molded image is falsehood, And there is no breath in them.

They are futile, a work of errors; In the time of their punishment they shall perish.

2 Samuel 9:1-5 Now David said, "Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?"

And there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba. So when they had called him to David, the king said to him, "Are you Ziba?" He said, "At your service!"

Then the king said, "Is there not still someone of the house of Saul, to whom I may show the kindness of God?" And Ziba said to the king, "There is still a son of Jonathan who is lame in his feet."

So the king said to him, "Where is he?" And Ziba to the king, "Indeed he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo Debar."

Then King David sent and brought him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo Demar.
