Amos 7:10-17 NKJV
1 Kings 20:35-38 Now a certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his neighbor by the word of the LORD, "Strike me, please." And the man refused to strike him.
Then he said to him, "Because you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, surely, as soon as you depart from me, a lion shall kill you." And as soon as he left him, a lion found him and killed him.
And he found another man, and said, "Strike me, please." So the man struck him, inflicting a wound.
Then the prophet departed and waited for the king by the road, and disguised himself with a bandage over his eyes.
Amos 3:8-11 A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The LORD GOD has spoken! Who can but prophesy?
"Proclaim in the palaces at Ashdod, And in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say; 'Assemble on the mountains of Samaria; See great tumults in her midst, And the oppressed within her.
For they do not know to do right,' says the LORD, 'Who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.'"
Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; "An adversary shall be all around the land; He shall sap your strength from you, And your palaces shall be plundered."
Ezekiel 21:1-7 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
"Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, preach against the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel;
"and say to the land of Israel, 'Thus says the LORD; "Behold, I am against you, and I will draw My sword out of its sheath and cut off both righteous and wicked from you.
"Because I will cut off both righteous and wicked from you, therefore My sword shall go out of its sheath against all flesh from south to north,
"that all flesh may know that I, the LORD, have drawn My sword out of its sheath; it shall not return anymore."'
"Sigh therefore, son of man, with a breaking heart, and sigh with bitterness before their eyes.
"And it shall be when they say to you, 'Why are you sighing?' that you shall answer, 'because of the news; when it comes, every heart will melt, and hands will be feeble, every spirit will faint, and all knees will be weak as water. Behold, it is coming and shall be brought to pass,' says the Lord GOD."
