Joel 1:19-20- Joel 2:1-2 NKJV
Joel 1:19-20 O LORD, to You I cry out; For fire has devoured the open pastures, And a flame has burned all the trees of the field.
The beasts of the field also cry out to You, For the water brooks are dried up, And fire has devoured the open pastures.
Joel 2:1-2 Blow the trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the LORD is coming, For it is at hand;
A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness, Like the morning clouds spread over the mountains. A people come, great and strong, The like of whom has never been; Nor will there ever be any such after them. Even for many successive generations.
Psalm 50:7-15 "Hear, O My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you; I am God, your God!
I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices Or your burnt offerings, Which are continually before Me.
I will not take a bull from your house, Nor goats out of your folds.
For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills.
I know all the birds of the mountains, And the wild beasts of the field are Mine."If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all its fullness.
Will I eat the flesh of bulls. Or drink the blood of goats?
Offer to God thanksgiving, And pay your vows to the Most High.
Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me"
Psalm 104:10-31 He sends the springs into the valleys; They flow among the hills.
They give drink to every beast of the field; The wild donkeys quench their thirst.
By them the birds of the heavens have their home; They sing among the branches.
He waters the hills for His upper chambers; The earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works.
He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, And vegetations for the service of man, That he may bring forth food from the earth,
And wine that makes glad the heart of man, Oil to make his face shine, And bread which strengthens man's heart
The trees of the LORD are full of sap, The cedars of Lebanon which he planted,
Where the birds make their nests; The stork has her home in the fir trees.
The high hills are for the wild goats; The cliffs are a refuge for the rock badgers.
He appoints the moon for seasons, The sun knows its going down.
You make darkness, and it is night, In which all the beasts of the forest creep about.
The young lions roar after their prey, And seek their food from God.
When the sun rises, they gather together And lie down in their dens.
Man goes out to his work And to his labor until the evening.
O LORD, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions--
Thus great and wide sea, In which are innumerable teeming things, Living things both small and great.
There the ships sail about; There is that Leviathan Which You have made to play there.
These all wait for You, That You may give them their food in due season.
What You give them they gather in; You open Your hand, they are filled with good.
You hide Your face, they are troubled; You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.
You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; And you renew the face of the earth.
May the glory of the LORD endure forever; May the LORD rejoice in His works.
Jeremiah 4:5-10 Declare in Judah and proclaim in Jerusalem, and say; "Blow the trumpet in the land; Cry, 'Gather together,' And say, 'Assemble yourselves, And let us go into the fortified cities.'
Set up the standard toward Zion, Take refuge! Do not delay! For I will bring disaster from the north, And great destruction."
The lion come on from his thicket, And the destroyer of nations is on his way. He has gone forth from his place To make your land desolate. Your cities will be laid waste, Without inhabitant.
For this, clothe yourself sackcloth, Lament and wail, For the fierce anger of the LORD Has not turned back from us.
"And it shall come to pass in that day," says the LORD, "That the heart of the king shall perish, And the heart of the princes; The priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder."
Then I said, "Ah, Lord God! surely You have greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, Saying, 'You shall have peace,' Whereas the sword reaches to the heart."
Amos 5:18-20 Woe to you who desire the day of the LORD! For what good is the day of the LORD to you? It will be darkness, and not light.
It will be as though a man fled from a lion, And a bear met him! Or as though he went into the house, Leaned his hand on the wall, And a serpent bit him!
Is not the day of the LORD darkness, and not light? Is it nor very dark, with no brightness in it?
