THE GOD OF RESTORATION
FROM THE EBOOK: “IT’S NOT OVER”
BY REV. ISHMAEL ASARE BAKAE

Scripture Focus:
“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.” — Joel 2:25 (KJV)
“For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord.” — Jeremiah 30:17 (KJV)
When God restores, He does not merely return what was lost — He multiplies, beautifies, and glorifies it. Human restoration is limited to recovery, but divine restoration brings transformation. God is not only able to give back what the enemy stole; He can make it better than it was before.
Many people live in regret over lost time, broken relationships, missed opportunities, or wasted years. But the good news is: God is the Redeemer of time and the Restorer of destinies. No matter how far things seem to have gone, He can bring back everything the enemy took — in double measure!
1. God Restores Time and Seasons
Joel 2:25 reminds us that even the years can be restored. Time is one thing man cannot recover by human effort, but when God steps in, He compresses years of struggle into moments of breakthrough.
He did it for Joseph — thirteen years of pain were erased in one day when he moved from the prison to the palace. He did it for Sarah, who bore a child after her strength was gone. He can do it for you.
God can restore lost years through speed, favor, and fruitfulness. What took others decades to accomplish can take you a single season when divine restoration is in motion.
2. God Restores Health and Strength
In Jeremiah 30:17, God declares, “I will restore health unto thee.” Many are broken physically and emotionally, but God is still the Great Physician. He heals not only the body but also the soul and spirit.
When Jesus met the man at the pool of Bethesda (John 5:1–9), thirty-eight years of paralysis were ended by a single word — “Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.”
That same power is available today. Whether it’s sickness, depression, or spiritual weariness, God can restore your strength and renew your vitality.
3. God Restores Relationships and Dignity
The prodigal son in Luke 15:11–24 had wasted his inheritance and brought shame upon himself. But when he returned, his father ran to him, embraced him, and restored him to his rightful place.
That’s the heart of the Father — full of mercy, grace, and compassion. He restores your dignity and renews your position. You may have fallen, failed, or wandered, but it’s not over. When you return to Him, He restores your identity as His beloved child.
4. God Restores Prosperity and Possession
When David returned to Ziklag in 1 Samuel 30:8, he found everything burned and his family taken captive. But after seeking God’s direction, he pursued, overtook, and recovered all.
Divine restoration empowers you to recover what belongs to you — your destiny, your peace, your finances, your honor. You will not only recover all; you will come back stronger and richer than before.
As Job 42:12 declares, “So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning.” When God restores, your end will be greater than your past!
6. Expect Greater Glory
Restoration does not mean going back to the old — it means entering into something greater. Haggai 2:9 says, “The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former.”
Your future will not be a copy of your past; it will be a divine upgrade. God’s restoration always ends with glory, abundance, and laughter. The same mouth that cried will sing. The same hands that toiled will testify.
The God Who Restores
No matter what you’ve lost — time, strength, joy, favor, health, or opportunities — God can restore it. Don’t dwell on what’s gone; lift your eyes to what’s coming. The God of restoration is working behind the scenes.
He will turn your scars into stars and your pain into purpose. Keep believing, keep praising, and keep trusting — because it’s not over until restoration comes!
Prayer Points
1. O God of Restoration, restore to me every good thing the enemy has stolen.
2. Lord, redeem my lost years and compress time for my divine advancement.
3. Father, heal my wounds and restore my physical and spiritual strength.
4. Let my latter glory surpass my former, in the name of Jesus.
5. I decree total restoration in my family, ministry, and destiny — by the power of the Holy Ghost!
