John 5:31-41 NKJV
John 5:31-41 "If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true.
"There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness which He witnesses of Me is true.
"You have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth.
"Yet I do not receive testimony from man, but I say these things that you may be saved.
"He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light.
"But I have greater witness than John's; for the works which the Father has given Me to finish--the very works that I do--bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me.
"And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.
"But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe.
"You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life, and these are they which testify of Me.
"But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.
"I do not receive honor from men.
John 8:13-15 The Pharisees therefore said to Him, "You bear witness of Yourself; Your witness is not true."
Jesus answered and said to them, "Even if I bear witness of Myself, My witness is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from and where I am going.
"You judge according to the flesh, I judge no one.
1 John 5:6-13 This is He who came by water and blood--Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood, And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.
For there are three that bear witness in heaven; the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.
And there are three that bear witness on earth, the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son.
He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.
And this is the testimony; that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
Matthew 5:14-15 "You are the light of the world, A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
"Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
1 John 4:12-15 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.
By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to the word, it is because there is no light in them.
Luke 24:27-31 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scripture the things concerning Himself.
Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone further,
But they constrained Him, saying, "Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day far spent." And He went in to stay with them.
Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, And He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them.
Then their eyes were opened
and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.
1 Thessalonians 2:5-8 For neither at any time did we use flattering words, as you know, nor a cloak for covetousness--God is witness,
Nor did we seek glory from men, either from you or from others, when we might have made demands as apostles of Christ.
But we were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children.
So, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.
