Good morning everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
It is really strange for me that it is 730 and the sun is not even attempting to crest and give light. This is the one thing I do not like about winter. I don’t mind the sun going down earlier in the evening, but this morning thing …. Geesh…makes me want to stay snuggled in my bed. Obviously…it is 730 and I am just now on my computer. Haha.
The fourth book in the series (the one I am using for the two 50k challenges) is coming right along. In 24 days, I have refreshed myself with the storyline, re-wrote areas that needed attention, and have now cleared 30k words. Where I am at in the story shows me that there is easily another 20k or more to get it completed and good.
Today we have a group of family and friends coming over to help us get some work done on the She Shed. Barring any large complications, we might even be able to finish it. That would be amazing. My husband did tell me last night that I do already have a pet…a mouse. Haha.
A friend of mine sent me a thought-provoking video last night, and then we had a very thought-provoking conversation about that video and how it pertains to us. The thing I find interesting is … I have been challenging myself in this area on multiple occasions. How to improve. How to correct myself when I see my words and actions reflecting in this manner. How I fail … almost always.
When I first started in my current office, I had a tardiness issue. I did not care if I was on time or not. It was my pay, so who cares? But one day when I hit my turn off, God spoke to me and told me I needed to fix myself that it was not right what I was doing, and my attitude was horrible in this area. When I got to work, a strong Christian man, whom I worked with, challenged me on my timeliness…as a Christian. I explained that I had that very conversation with God in the car on the way to work. (Confirmation that it was God’s voice.)
Yesterday I was having a conversation with someone and these very thoughts that were demonstrated in this video that my friend shared convicted me. Then, I got the video, and God’s word was confirmed in my spirit. As if that wasn’t enough, God knows how I am, I had a solid conversation this morning with that friend. More confirmation.
Now, I have a choice to make. I can follow the leading of the Spirit and correct my position, or I can continue to do me and answer for my disobedience when I die. He showed me something this morning that put things into perspective for me. It is as clear as mountain water in the morning light. I have had these thoughts before; however, I pushed them off to the side…God has brought out the big guns this time…think I'd better listen.
Do you have a situation that you have been avoiding because you do not feel it is worth the headache? Have you convinced yourself that it is hopeless to even try? Did you determine that your situation was okay because of x, y, z? That is where I was…I was wrong. In all three questions.
I encourage you today to take a moment and sincerely listen to the whispers of the Spirit and start the path of correction in that area that you know is wrong…but you do it anyway.
Be blessed today my friends.
