1 John 3:13-24 NKJV
1 John 3:13-24 Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you.
We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death.
Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.
For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.
And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
And this is His commandment; that we should believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another,as He gave us commandment.
Now he who keeps His commandment abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
John 15:18-23 "If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.
"If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I choose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
"Remember the word that I said to you, ' A Servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep your also.
"But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.
"If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but know they have no excuse for their sin.
"He who hates Me hates My Father also.
Matthew 5:21-26 "You have heard that it was sad to those of old, 'You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.'
"But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to His brother,'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire.
"Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember your brother has something against you,
"leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
"Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.
"Assuredly, I say to you, you will be no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny.
