DIVINE WHISPER – RECOGNIZING GOD’S VOICE IN THE LAST HOUR
LESSON 8: THE REWARDS OF LISTENING TO GOD’S VOICE
ANCHOR VERSE:
Isaiah 30:21 (KJV)
"And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left."
INTRODUCTION
Listening to God’s voice is not just a spiritual discipline — it is a divine privilege that transforms every area of life. In a world filled with confusion, chaos, and deception, those who tune their ears to heaven enjoy supernatural direction, peace, and fruitfulness. God does not speak to impress us; He speaks to bless, guide, and shape us for destiny.
Rewards of Hearing and Obeying God’s Voice
1. Divine Direction
Hearing God’s voice removes guesswork from decisions.
Psalm 32:8 – “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.”
2. Inner Peace and Stability
Obedience to His voice brings supernatural calm even in storms.
Philippians 4:7 – “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
3. Protection from Danger
God warns His people before harm comes.
Amos 3:7 – “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”
4. Fruitful Living and Success
Divine instructions lead to breakthrough and victory.
Luke 5:5–6 – Peter obeyed Jesus’ word and caught a multitude of fish.
5. Deeper Intimacy with God
Listening builds closeness and friendship with God.
John 15:15 – “I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.”
6. Confidence in Decision-Making
A person who hears God’s voice walks boldly, without fear of mistakes.
Proverbs 3:6 – “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
REAL-LIFE EXAMPLE
A missionary once prepared to travel to a certain region to preach the gospel. The night before departure, God spoke through a strong inner warning to delay the journey. Days later, news broke that a violent uprising had erupted in that area. Because he listened, his life was spared, and he reached the people safely later. God’s voice not only guides — it protects.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
1. Which of these rewards have I personally experienced from hearing God’s voice?
2. Are there areas where I’ve ignored God’s direction and faced consequences?
3. How can I become more attentive to His daily guidance?
4. What is one decision right now where I need God’s voice?
