Job 34:13-20 CEV Challenge SB
Job 34:13-20 CEV Challenge SB From the very beginning God has been in control of all the world.
If God took back the breath that he breathed into us,
we humans would die and return to the soil.
So be smart and listen!
The mighty God is the one who brings about justice, and you are condemning him.
Indeed, God is the one who condemns unfair rulers.
And God created us all; he has no favorites, whether rich or poor.
Even powerful rulers die in the darkness of night when they least expect it, just like the rest of us.
David's Last Words
2 Samuel 23:1-4 CEV Challenge SB These are the last words of David the son of Jesse. The God of Jacob chose David and made him a great king. The Mighty God of Israel loved him. When God told him to speak, David said:
The Spirit of the Lord has told me what to say.
Our Mighty Rock, the God of Jacob, told me, "A ruler who obeys God and does right
is like the sunrise on a cloudless day, or like rain that sparkles on the grass."
Job 40:6-14 CEV Challenge SB Then out of the storm the Lord said to Job:
Face me and answer the questions I ask!
Are you trying to prove that you are innocent by accusing me of injustice?
Do you have a powerful arm and a thundering voice that compare with mine?
If so, then surround yourself with glory and majesty.
Show your furious anger! Thrown down and crush
all who are proud and evil.
Wrap them in grave clothes and bury them together in the dusty soil.
Do this, and I will agree that you have won this argument.
