Opening Scriptures before the Message
Isaiah 55:11 It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right.
It is God's way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do.
2 Peter 1:19-21 Because of that, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. Pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a light shining in a dark place--until the day Christ appears and his brilliant light shines in your hearts.
Above all, you must understand that no prophesy in Scripture ever came from the prophets themselves
or because they wanted to prophesy. It was the Holy Spirit who moved the prophets to speak from God.
How to hear and understand the Gospel
The LORD Challenges Job
Job 38:1-3 Then the LORD answered Job from the whirlwind:
"Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words?
Brace yourself, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them.
The LORD Challenges Job Again
Job 40:6-7 Then the LORD answered Job from the whirlwind:
"Brace yourself, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them.
Job 42:4-7 "You said, 'Listen and I will speak! I have some questions for you, and you must answer them.'
"I had heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.
I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance."
Conclusion: The LORD Blesses Job
After the LORD had finished speaking to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite: "I am angry with you and with your two friends, for you have not been right in what you said about me, as my servant Job was.
Romans 10:14-17 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?
And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"
But not everyone welcomes the Good News, for Isaiah the prophet said, "Lord, who has believed our message?"
Yet faith comes from listening to this message of good news--the Good News about Christ.
Acts 26:17-18 And I will protect you from both your own people and the Gentiles. Yes, I am going to send you to the Gentiles,
to open their eyes so they may turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgivenees for their sins and be given a place among God's people, who are set apart by faith in me.'
Romans 15:4-7 Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. They give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises.
May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other--each with the attitude of Christ Jesus toward the other.
Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
So accept each other just as Christ has accepted you; then God will be glorified.
