Opening Scriptures before the Message
Isaiah 55:11 so shall My word be that goes out of My mouth. It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished for all good works.
2 Peter 1:19-21 We also have a more certain word of prophesy, to which you do well to pay attention, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the day star rises in your hearts,
knowing this first, that no prophesy of scripture is of any private interpretation.
For the prophesy did not come in old time by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
How to hear and understand the Gospel
Jehovah and Job
Job 38:1-3 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,
"Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?
Now prepare for action like a man. for I will demand of you, and you will answer Me.
Job 40:6-7 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,
"Prepare for action now like a man. I will demand of you, and you will declare to Me.
Job 42:4-7 Hear, I beseech You, and I will speak. I will demand of You, and You will declare to me.
I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear. But now my eye sees You.
Therefore, I hate myself and repent in dust and ashes."
Job Vindicated and Honored
And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words to Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, "My wrath is kindled against you and against your two friends. For you have not spoken of Me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has.
Israel's Rejection of God
Romans 10:14-17 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things!?
But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?"
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Acts 26:17-18 delivering you from the people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am now sending you,
to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.'
Romans 15:4-7 For whatever things were written formerly were written for our learning, that though patience and comfort from the scriptures we might have hope.
Now may the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus,
that with one mind and one mouth you may glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore receive one another, as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.
