Troubled Thoughts
Life is filled with a host of challenges that you’ll never be able to control. But the thing that you do have control over is your attitude. If you think you will fail, then guess what? You will fail. If you look at life with a sour attitude, everything will seem dismal. But if you think you can do it, you will! If you look for the good, you will find it. There is nothing in this world that can trouble you more than your own thoughts. Whatever you tell yourself becomes your reality. Choose to smile instead of frowning. Of course, a smiling face is not a sign of a perfect life, it’s a symbol of a hopeful one. American author John C. Maxwell once said, “People may hear your words, but they feel your attitude.” It’s impossible to be truly happy if you are always negative, grumpy, and annoyed. God wants His children to be joyful. Psalm 118:24 says, “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!” And in Philippians 4:4 we’re told, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again, rejoice!” Someone once said, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” No matter how discouraging the news or how challenging the problem, choose to approach it with a positive attitude. Ask God to give you an attitude adjustment so you can look at the bright side of every challenge. He will help you face every storm. You don’t have to go it alone, so lean on Him for strength and support. You can trust God to take away troubled thoughts and give you Holy Spirit power to face each day with a positive attitude. Text: Proverbs 17:22, Philippians 4:8, Isaiah 41:10, Colossians 3:2
