The Disciple’s Path
Becoming What You Follow
Week 1: The Call to Follow
This first week is about being awakened — the moment when Jesus steps into your ordinary life and calls you into an extraordinary journey.
---
Day 1 – The Invitation: “Come, Follow Me”
“Come, follow Me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” — Matthew 4:19
He didn’t call them to a destination.
He called them to Himself.
On the shores of Galilee, rough hands mended broken nets. Sand clung to tired feet. It was an average day in an average life — until Heaven spoke into it.
Jesus did not present a contract, a doctrinal statement, or a 10-year strategic plan.
He simply walked past them and called their name.
In that moment, time paused. The familiar rhythm of waves could not compete with the sound of eternity in His voice.
There is a moment in every believer’s life where Jesus does the same.
Not with lightning or thunder — but with a whisper that arrests the soul:
“Follow Me.”
Not follow a religion. Not follow your emotions. Follow Me.
Every true disciple begins here — with a decision not of the feet, but of the heart.
Reflection
Where might Jesus be calling you into deeper closeness today?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I hear Your voice calling. I choose to follow—heart first. Draw me closer than I’ve ever been. Amen.
