There was a time when every time I’d pray for people — at a service, with a friend, anywhere — especially an altar call while traveling - the presence of God would hit so strong it felt like electricity.
People would fall over, cry, shake — and I started thinking that’s what it meant for God to move.
So when it stopped happening, I thought I’d done something wrong.
I thought God wasn’t using me the same because I must’ve missed something or messed up.
Then He spoke to me and said,
“I gave you those feelings so you’d know I was there.
But I took those feelings because you started focusing more on them than on Me.”
That moment changed me.
I realized I’d made it about performance instead of presence — about feelings instead of faith.
My dad told me the same thing happened to him when he first started pastoring and praying for people.
God doesn’t work by feelings.
He works by His Word.
