Day 2 – Leaving the Nets Behind

“At once they left their nets and followed Him.” — Matthew 4:20

The net wasn’t just rope.
It was livelihood. Identity. Predictability.

Yet Scripture says, “At once.”
No hesitation. No bargaining. No “later, Lord.”

Discipleship begins where self-dependence ends.
To leave the nets is to let go of what we trust more than Him. It may be a habit, a relationship, a title, or even the image we hold of ourselves.

They weren’t just walking away from something.
They were walking towards Someone.

Reflection

What is Jesus asking you to release so that your hands can be free to grasp His?

Prayer

Lord, I loosen my grip on the familiar. Lead me beyond what I know, into who You are. Amen.
