THE TURNING POINT
From the eBook: “It’s Not Over”
By Rev. Ishmael Asare Bakae
Scripture Focus:
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” — Psalm 30:5 (KJV)
“And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.” — Job 42:10 (KJV)
Every story of restoration has a moment when everything changes — the turning point. It’s that divine intersection where God steps in and reverses the irreversible. You may have wept through the night, endured seasons of loss, pain, or delay, but God specializes in turning mourning into dancing and ashes into beauty.
When the turning point comes, the things that once worked against you begin to work for you. The same people who doubted you will see the hand of God and say, “The Lord has done great things for them.” (Psalm 126:2).
1. God Is the Master of Turnarounds
God is a specialist in rewriting painful stories. He turned Joseph’s prison into a palace, Hannah’s tears into songs of joy, and Job’s tragedy into triumph. The same God who turned bitter waters into sweet (Exodus 15:25) can transform your life’s bitter moments into testimonies of victory.
When Job lost everything, it seemed like his end had come. But God was only preparing a greater glory. His turning point came when he shifted his focus from his pain to interceding for others — “And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends.”
Your turning point often begins when you start doing what doesn’t make sense — praising in pain, praying for others, and believing again even when everything looks broken.
2. The Turning Point Comes Through Divine Encounters
In Luke 7:11–15, the widow of Nain was heading to bury her only son when she met Jesus at the city gate. Her day of sorrow became her day of joy. One encounter with Jesus changed her story forever.
No one can encounter Jesus and remain the same. Every divine encounter carries the power to reverse the irreversible. That’s why we must seek His presence continually. The place of encounter is the place of transformation.
When you bring your dead situations — your dreams, your health, your finances, your relationships — into His presence, the resurrection power of Christ can bring them back to life.
3. Obedience Prepares the Way for a Turnaround
In John 2:1–11, at the wedding in Cana, when the wine ran out, Jesus gave an instruction: “Fill the waterpots with water.” Though it made no sense, they obeyed — and the water turned into wine. Obedience is often the bridge between despair and divine intervention.
When God gives you an instruction — no matter how small — obey quickly. Sometimes your breakthrough is hidden in a simple act of obedience.
4. God’s Timing Brings the Turning Point
Ecclesiastes 3:11 declares, “He hath made everything beautiful in His time.” God’s timing may not always align with ours, but it is always perfect. The enemy wants you to give up before your moment comes. But if you can wait faithfully, your time of change will surely come.
The night may seem endless, but morning is coming. When it comes, you will forget the pain of the past and rejoice in the goodness of God.
5. Signs That Your Turning Point Is Near
• You begin to feel renewed hope despite unchanged circumstances.
• Doors that were long closed begin to open unexpectedly.
• Divine helpers begin to locate you.
• Prophetic words start finding fulfillment.
• Peace begins to replace anxiety in your heart.
When these signs appear, rejoice! Your season of restoration is unfolding.
