When Thinking Delays Praying
Have you ever noticed that the moment we pause everything and open our hearts to God, the mind suddenly starts wandering?
There was a stage in my prayer life when this would happen to me constantly. I would kneel, stand, or sit to pray… and before I knew it, thoughts would creep in. Sometimes, I would spend more than an hour lost in my mind, realizing too late that I was supposed to be praying, not thinking.
To make matters worse, after this mental wandering, I’d already feel tired. I’d tell myself, “I’ll just pray in a relaxed position — after all, God hears our hearts.” And before I knew it, I’d wake up wondering how long I’d slept and what my last words were before dozing off.
Does this resonate with you?
If it does, I’ll be sharing how I transformed my prayer life — from feeling 15 minutes of prayer stretched into an hour, to experiencing 3-hour spirit-filled sessions of uninterrupted devotion.
