Joshua 15:16-17 And Caleb said, "He who attacks Kirjath Sepher and takes it, to him I will give Achsah my daughter as wife.

So Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.

1 Samuel 11:1-3 Then Nahash the Ammonite came up and encamped against Jabesh Gilead; and all the men of Jabesh said to Nahash, "Make a covenant with us, and we will serve you."

And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, "On this condition I will make  a covenant with you, that I may put out all your right eyes, and bring reproach on all Israel."

Then the elders of Jabesh said to him, "Hold off for seven days, that we may send messengers to all the territory  of Israel. And then, if there is no one to save us, we will come out to you."

1 Samuel 14:6-10 Then Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, "Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the LORD will work for us, For nothing restrains the LORD from saving by many or by few."

So his armorbearer said to him, "Do all that is in your heart, Go then; here I am with you, according to your heart."

Then Jonathan said, "Very well, let us cross over to these men, and we will show ourselves to them.

"If they say thus to us, 'Wait until we come to you,' then we will stand still in our place and not go up to them.

"But if they say thus, 'Come up to us,' then we will go up. For the LORD has delivered them into our hand, and this will be a sign to us."

So both of them showed themselves  to the garrison  of the Philistines. And the Philistines said, "Look, the Hebrews are coming out of the holes where they have hidden."

Then the men of the garrison called to Jonathan and his armorbearer, and said, "Come up to us, and we will show you something." Jonathan said to his armorbearer,  "Come up after me, for the LORD has delivered them into the hand of Israel."

1 Samuel 17:36 "Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defiled the armies of the living God."
