1 Samuel 17:38-47 NKJV
1 Samuel 17:38-47 So Saul clothed David with his armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail.
David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And David said to Saul, "I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them." So David took them off.
Then he too his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine. So the Philistine came, and began drawing near to David, and the man who bore the shield went before him.
And when the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him; for he was only a youth, ruddy and good-looking.
So the Philistine said to David, "Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?" And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.
And the Philistine said to David, "Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!"
Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin, But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defiled.
"This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give carcasses of the camp of the Philistines, to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
"Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD's, and He will give you into our hands,"
Psalm 123:1-4 UNTO You I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the heavens.
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the LORD our God, Until He has mercy on us.
Have mercy on us, O LORD, have mercy on us! For we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
Our soul is exceedingly filled With the scorn of those who are at ease, With the contempt of the proud.
2 Kings 8:13 So Hazael said, "But what is your servant--a dog, that he should do this gross thing?" And Elisha answered, "The LORD has shown me that you will become king over Syria."
Deuteronomy 28:20-29 "The LORD will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me.
"The LORD will make the plague cling to you until He has consumed you from the land which you are going to possess.
"The LORD will strike you with consumption, with fever, with inflammation, with severe burning fever, with the sword. with scorching, and with mildew; they shall pursue you until you perish.
"And your heavens which are over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you shall be iron.
"The LORD will change the rain of your land to powder and dust; from the heaven it shall come down on you until you are destroyed.
"The LORD will cause you to be defeated before your enemies; you shall go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them; and you shall become troublesome to all the kingdoms of the earth.
"Your carcassess shall be food for all the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and no one shall frighten them away.
"The LORD will strike you with the boils of Egypt, with tumors, with the scab, and with the itch, from which you cannot be healed.
"The LORD will strike you with madness and blindness and confusion of heart.
"And you shall grope at noonday, as a blind man gropes in darkness; you shall not prosper in your ways; you shall be only oppressed and plundered continually, and no one shall save you.
