Our All-Powerful God – Surrendering to Christ
Pastor Joseph Clark – March 12, 2023
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
— Genesis 1:1
Whether I’m ministering to inmates or answering faith questions online, I see a clear contrast: the humble faith of those who have surrendered to Christ versus the pride of those who believe they need no Savior. Scripture reminds us,
“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
— James 4:6
True faith begins with humility. Jesus said,
“Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
— Matthew 18:3
Blaise Pascal reasoned that belief in God brings everything to gain and nothing to lose. Yet many still reject their Creator—the One who designed and sustains all existence. The universe itself proclaims His order and power:
“Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made.”
— John 1:3
Charles Spurgeon said, “The sovereignty of God is the pillow upon which the child of God rests his head at night.” Indeed, every heartbeat, every sunrise, every breath is a gift from His hand.
God longs for each soul to receive His grace.
“The Lord…is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
— 2 Peter 3:9
Billy Graham wrote, “When we come to the end of ourselves, we come to the beginning of God.” Surrender to Christ is not weakness—it is the doorway to eternal life.
“Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow Me.”
— Luke 9:23
He created us to dwell with Him forever.
Prayer:
Almighty Father, Maker of heaven and earth, we surrender our lives to You. Reign in our hearts and be glorified through us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
