Life Recovery Bible LRB
Isaiah 55:11 LRB It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 LRB All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.
2 Peter 1:19-21 LRB Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place--until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines in your hearts.
Above all, you must realize that no prophesy in Scripture ever came from the prophet's own understanding,
or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God
How to hear and understand the Gospel
The LORD Challenges Job
Job 38:1-3 LRB Then the LORD answered Job from the whirlwind;
"Who is this that questions my wisdom with ignorant words?
Brace yourself like a man, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them.
The LORD Challenges Job Again
Job 40:6-7 LRB Then the LORD answered Job from the whirlwind;
"Brace yourself like a man, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them.
Job 42:4-7 LRB "You said, 'Listen and I will speak! I have some questions for you, and you must answer them.'
I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.
I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance."
Conclusion: The LORD Blesses Job
After the LORD had finished speaking to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite: "I am angry with you and your two friends, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has.
Romans 10:14-17 LRB But How, can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have not heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?
And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, "How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!"
But not everyone welcomes the Good News. For Isaiah the prophet said, "Lord, who has believed our message?"
So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.
Acts 26:17-18 LRB And I will rescue you from both your own people and the Gentiles. Yes, I am sending you to the Gentiles
to open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God's people, who are set apart by faith in me.'
Romans 15:4-7 LRB Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises to be fulfilled.
May God who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus.
Then all of you can join together with one voice giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, accept each other, just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.
