Job 38:1-7 NKJV

Psalm 104:5-23 You who laid the foundations of the earth, So that it should be moved forever,

You covered it with the deep as with a garment; The waters stood above the mountains.

At Your rebuke they fled; At the voice of Your thunder they hastened away.

They went up over the mountains; They went down into the valleys, To the place which You founded fro them.

You have set a boundary that they may not pass over, That they not return to cover the earth.

He sends the springs into the valleys; They flow among the hills.

They give drink to every beast of the field; The wild donkeys quench their thirst.

By them the birds of the heavens have their home; They sing among the branches.

He waters the hills from His upper chambers; The earth is satisfied with the fruits of Your works.

He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, And vegetation for the service of man, That he may bring forth food from the earth,

And wine that makes glad the heart of man, Oil to make his face shine, And bread which strengthens man's heart.

The trees of the Lord are full of sap, The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,

Where the birds make their nests; The stork has her home in the fir trees.

The high hills are for the wild goats;  The cliffs area refuge for the rock badgers.

He appointed the moon for seasons; The sun knows its going down.

You make darkness, and it is night, In which all the beasts of the forest creep about.

The young lions roar after their prey, And seek their food from God.

When the sun rises, they gather together And lie down in their dens.

Man goes out to his work And to his labor until the evening.

Job 1:6-22 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.

And the Lord said to Satan, "From where do you come?" So Satan answered the Lord and said, "From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.

"Then the Lord said to Satan, "Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?"

So Satan answered and the Lord and said,"Does Job fear God for nothing?

"Have You made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands , and his possessions have increased in the land.

"But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!"

And Lord said to Satan, "Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person." So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.

Now there was a day when his sons  and daughters  were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother's house;

and a messenger came to Job and said, "The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them,

"when the Sabeans raided them and took them away--indeed they have killed the servants with the edge of the sword;  and I alone have escaped to tell you!'

While he was still speaking, another also came and said,"The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them; and I alone have escaped to tell you!"

While he was still speaking, another also came and said, "The Chaldeans formed three bands , raided the camels  and took them away, yes, and killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you!"

While he was still speaking, another also came and said, "Your sons and daughters were eating  and drinking wine in their oldest brother's house,

"and suddenly a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people, and they are dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you!"

Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped.

And He said; "Naked I came from my mother's womb, And naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord."

In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.
