Hebrews 6:9-20 But even if we speak like this, dear friends, we feel sure about you. We know that you have the better blessings that belong to your salvation.
God is not unfair. He will not forget the work you did or the love you showed for him in the help you gave and are still giving to other Christians.
Our great desire is that each of you keep up your eagerness to the end, so that the things you hope for will come true.
We do not want you to become lazy, but to be like those who believe and are patient, and so receive what God has promised.
God's Sure Promise
When God made his promise to Abraham, he made a vow to do what he had promised. Since there was no one greater than himself, he used his own name when he made his vow.
He said "I promise you that I will bless you and give you many descendants."
Abraham was patient, and so he received what God had promised.
When we make a vow, we use the name of someone greater than ourselves, and the vow settles all arguments.
To those who were to receive what he promised, God wanted to make it very clear that he would never change his purpose; so he added his vow to the promise.
There are these two things, then, that cannot change and about which God cannot lie. So we who have found safety with him are greatly encouraged to hold firmly to the hope placed before us.
We have this hope as an anchor for our lives. It is safe and sure, and goes through the curtain of the heavenly temple into the inner sanctuary.
On our behalf Jesus has gone in there before us and has become a high priest forever, in the priestly order of Melchizedek.

A Living Hope
1 Peter 1:3-10 Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Because of his great mercy he gave us new life by raising Jesus Christ from death. This fills us with a living hope,
and so we look forward to possessing the rich blessing that God keeps for his people. He keeps them for you in heaven, where they cannot decay or spoil or fade away.
They are for you, who through faith are kept safe by God's power for the salvation which is ready to be revealed at the end of time.
Be glad about this, even though it may now be necessary for you to be sad for a while because of the many kinds of trials you suffer.
Their purpose is to prove that your faith is genuine. Even gold, which can destroyed, is tested by fire; and so your faith, which is much more precious than gold, must also be tested, so that it may endure. Then you will receive praise and glory and honor on the Day when Jesus Christ is revealed.
You love him, although you have not seen him, and you believe in him although you do not now see him. So you rejoice with a great and glorious joy which words cannot express,
because you are receiving the salvation of your souls, which is the purpose of your faith in him.
It was concerning this salvation that the prophets made careful search an investigation, and they prophesied about this gift which God would give you.
Prayer of Thanksgiving
Colossians 1:3-10 We always give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you.
For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all God's people.
When the true message, the Good News, first came to you, you heard about the hope it offers. So your faith and love are based what you hope for, which is kept safe for you in heaven.
The gospel keeps bringing blessings and is spreading throughout the world, just as it has among you ever since the day you first heard about the grace of God and came to know it as it really is.
You learned of God's grace from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is Christ's faithful worker on our behalf.
He has told us of the love that the Spirit has given you.
For this reason we have always prayed for you, ever since we heard about you. We ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will, with all the wisdom and understanding that his Spirit gives.
Then you will be able to live as the Lord wants and will always do what pleases to him. Your lives will produce all kinds of good deeds, and you will grow in your knowledge of God.
Romans 4:2-25 If he was put right with God by the things he did, he would have something to boast about-- but not in God's sight.
The scripture says, "Abraham believed God, and because of his faith God, accepted him as righteous."
A person who works is paid wages, but they are not regarded as a gift; they are something that has been earned.
But those who depend on faith, not on deeds, and who believe in the God who declares the guilty to be innocent , it is the faith that God takes into account, in order to put them right with himself.
This is what David meant when he spoke of the happiness of the person whom God accepts as righteous, apart from anything that person does:
"Happy are those whose wrongs are forgiven, whose sins are pardoned!
Happy is the person whose sins the Lord will not keep account of !"
Does this happiness that David spoke of belong only to those who are circumcised? No indeed! It belongs also to those who are not circumcised. For we have quoted the scripture Abraham believed God, and because of his faith God accepted him as righteous."
When did this take place? Was it before or after Abraham was circumcised? It was before, not after.
He was circumcised later, and his circumcision was a sign to show that because of his faith God had accepted him as righteous before he had been circumcised. And so Abraham is the spiritual father of all who believe in God and are accepted as righteous by him, even thought they are not circumcised,
He is also the father of those who are circumcised, that is, of those who, in addition to being circumcised, also live the same life of faith that our father Abraham lived before he was circumcised.
Right with God
Romans 5:1-5 Now that we have been put right with God through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
He has brought us by faith into this experience of God's grace, in which we now live. And so we boast of the hope we have of sharing God's glory!
We also boast of our troubles, because we know that trouble produces endurance,
endurance brings God's approval, and his approval creates hope.
This hope does not disappoint us, for God has poured out his love into our hearts by means of the Holy Spirit, who is God's gift to us.
Romans 15:4-7 Everything written in the Scriptures was written to teach us, in order that we might have hope through the patience and encouragement with the Scriptures give us.
And may God, the source of patience and encouragement, enable you to have the same point of view among yourselves by following the example Christ Jesus,
so that all of you together may praise with one voice the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Gospel to the Gentiles
Accept one another, then, for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.
Romans 15:12-13 And again, Isaiah says, "A descendant of Jesse will appear; he will come to rule the Gentiles, and will put their hope in him."
May God the source of hope, fill you with all joy and please by means of your faith in him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit.

You Are Chosen for Salvation
