Luke 1:76-80 NKJV "And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest; For you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways,
To give knowledge of salvation to his people By the remission of their sins.

Through the tender mercy of our God With which the Dayspring from on high has visited us;

To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death. To guide our feet into the way of peace."

So the child grew and became strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his manifestation to Israel.

Matthew 3:3-4 For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying; "The voice of one crying in the wilderness; 'Prepare the way of the LORD; Make His paths straight.'"

Now John himself was clothed in camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey.

Isaiah 40:3-5 The voice of one crying in the wilderness; "Prepare the way of the LORD; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God.

Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth;

The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken."

Mark 1:4-5 John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Then all the land of Judea, and those from Jerusalem, went out to him and were all baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.

Isaiah 9:1-2 Nevertheless the gloom will not be upon her who is distressed, As when at first He lightly esteemed The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, And afterward more heavily oppressed her, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, In Galilee of the Gentiles.

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined.

John 10:1-5 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

"But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

"To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

"And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.

"Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not not know the voice of strangers."

John 16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace, In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
