Hosea 3:1-5 NKJV
Hosea 3:1-5 Then the LORD said to me, "Go again, love a woman who is loved by a lover and is committing adultery, just like the love of the LORD for the children of Israel, who look to other gods and love the raisin cakes of the pagans."
So I bought her for myself for fifteen shekels of silver, and one and one-half homers of barley.
And I said to her, "You shall stay with me many days; you shall not play the harlot, nor shall you have man--so, too, will I be toward you."
For the children of Israel shall abide many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar, without ephod or teraphim.
Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They shall fear the LORD and His goodness in the latter days.
Jeremiah 3:19-20 "But I said; 'How can I put you among the children And give you a pleasant land, A beautiful heritage of the hosts of nations?" "And I said; 'You shall call Me, "My Father," And not turn away from Me.'
Surely, as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, So have you dealt treacherously with Me, O house of Israel," says the LORD.
Isaiah 48:3-8 "I have declared the former things from the beginning; They went forth from My mouth, and I caused them to hear it. Suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.
Because I knew your were obstinate, And your neck was an iron sinew, And your brow bronze,
Even from the beginning I have declared it to you; Before it came to pass I proclaimed it to you, Lest you should say, "My idol has done them, And my carved image and my molded image Have commanded them.'
"You have heard; See all this. And will you not declare it? I have made you hear new things from this time, Even hidden things, and you did not know them.
They are created now and not from the beginning; And before this day you have not heard them, Lest you should say, 'Of course I knew them.'
Surely you did not hear, Surely you did not know; Surely from long ago your ear was not opened. For I knew that you would deal very treacherously, And were called a transgressor from the womb.
Deuteronomy 21:10-14 "When you go out to war against your enemies, and the LORD your God delivers them into your hand, and you take them captive,
"and you see among the captives beautiful women, and desire her and would take her for your wife,
"then you shall bring her home to your house, and she shall shave her head and trim her nails,
"She shall put off the clothes of her captivity, remain in your house, and mourn her father and her mother a full month; after that you may go in to her and be her husband, and she shall be your wife.
"And it shall be, if you have no delight in her, then you shall set her free, but you certainly shall not sell her for money; you shall not treat her brutally, because you have humbled her.
Jeremiah 50:1-7 The word that the LORD spoke against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.
"Declare among the nations, Proclaim, and set up a standard; Proclaim--do not conceal it--Say, 'Babylon is taken, Bel is shamed, Merodach is broken in pieces; Her idols are humiliated, Her images are broken in pieces.
For out of the north a nation comes up against her, Which shall make her land desolate, And no one shall dwell therein. They shall move, they shall depart, Both man and beast.
"In those days and in that time," says the LORD, "The children of Israel shall come, They and the children of Judah together; With continual weeping they shall come, And seek the LORD their God.
They shall ask the way to Zion. With their faces toward it, saying, 'Come and let us join ourselves to the LORD In a perpetual covenant That will not be forgotten.'
"My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray; They have turned them away on the mountains. They have gone from mountain to hill; they have forgotten their resting place.
All who found them have devoured them; and their adversaries said, 'We have not offended, Because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, The LORD, the hope of their fathers.'
Isaiah 53:3-7 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
