Good morning, everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
I do believe that Fall has made its way to us. The new morning temperatures would absolutely suggest that Fall is here. That’s okay. Though I am not a fan of constant cold, it does make for good working weather outside, and it is yet another cycle in life.
My hope was that last weekend we would have the She Shed done; however, as with all my ideas…haha…it became problematic. No worries, a good chunk of work was done, and now the finishing of the interior work and furniture moving will begin. I am completely excited about being able to sit out there in His presence and create.
Today is the end of the 31-day challenge to write 50k words. I will fall short, but that is not a bad thing. I am at 42K right now, and the story is developing quite well. The most I have ever written was 5k in a day, but that was an off day, and today I have to go to work. Although I have not written or will not complete this particular assignment, I have written well over 50k words this month, including this challenge story, my daily devotionals, and two competition pieces. When I look back at the amount of actual writing I have done this month, I am seriously blown away. The fact that I made time to write instead of scrolling. The fact that I found time to write, despite having doctors' and financial appointments. My determination to write regardless of my work schedule. I made writing happen because I chose to make writing happen.
If you remember, I was in two challenges for 50k or more book: the 31-day and the 90-day. The 90-day challenge is to write, edit, and be ready to publish by the end of December. This one is a lot more doable, especially since I am well over 40k in the first month.
This month has been riddled with challenge after challenge, in both my writing world and everything else world, however, all challenges were met head on and with determination. I count this month as a success, even with the lacking of the first challenge potentially not being accomplished.
The very mindset of what I accomplished and what I did not is the same in my everyday walk. I can choose to scroll social media and ignore the world around me, or I can choose to set my phone down and engage for a God moment. I can choose to allow the scare of a deer that ran in front of me to set my tone for the day, or I can say ‘not today’ and choose to be blessed that I did not hit the deer. I can choose to not like the choices that I see around me alter my mood, or I can choose to control my position by being Christ-like. It is completely a choice that I have to make.
The choices that we choose are of our own free will and volition. Circumstances only play a role as much as you allow them to. Believe it or not, I have to remind myself of this exceptionally wise statement daily.
Today is Friday. Most everyone’s favorite day. Make today a Christ-like choice day and watch the true magic of peace embrace your soul.
Be blessed today my friends.
