Joy NKJV

Joy- State of delight and well being that results from knowing and serving God. Joy is the fruit of a right relationship with God.

James 1:1-10 James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad; Greetings,

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trails,

knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God , who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

For let not the man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;

he is a double minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation,

but the rich in his humiliation, because as the flower of the field he will pass away.

Matthew 2:1-12 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem,

saying, "Where is he who has been born  King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him."

When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

And when he had gathered all the chief priest and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.

So they said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet;

'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah; Are not the least  among the rulers of Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel."

Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared.

And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also."

When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East,went before them, till it came and stood over  where the young Child was.

When they saw the star, they rejoiced, with exceeding great joy.

And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother; and fell down and worshiped Him, And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him; gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed from their own country another way.

Philippians 1:19-30 For I know this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death,

For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean from my labor; yet what i shall choose I cannot tell.

For I am hard-pressed  between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.

Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you.

And being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith,

that your rejoicing for me be more abundant in Jesus christ by my coming to you again.

Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel,

and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God.

For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,

having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.
