✝️ One Body, One Savior ✝️ 📖 “For just as the body is one and has many members… so it is with Christ.” (1 Corinthians 12:12) In the early centuries after Jesus Christ, the Church was one, known as “Catholic,” meaning a universal church for all. But over time, because of human weakness, politics, and differences in belief, the Church became divided. ✝️ 1054 – The Great Schism: The first major division took place: In the West, the Roman Catholic Church (under the leadership of the Pope in Rome) continued. In the East, the Eastern Orthodox Church separated, as they did not accept the authority of the Pope. ✝️ 1517 – The Protestant Reformation: Martin Luther raised his voice against corruption and false traditions in the Church, calling people back to the truth of the Bible. As a result, more new churches separated from the Roman Catholic Church, including: Lutheran Reformed (Calvinist) Anglican Methodist Baptist and later, Pentecostal and Evangelical movements 📌 Today, the Christian world has three main groups: 1. Roman Catholic Church – the largest, with more than 1.3 billion members, notable for education, service, and global influence. 2. Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches – strong in tradition, worship, and ancient beliefs. 3. Protestant Churches – thousands of denominations, serving and ministering in different countries. Though denominations exist, Christ is not divided. The Church may have different forms, but the Cross is one. The Savior is only and only Jesus Christ. Today, the most powerful ministry is happening where the truth of the Bible, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the preaching of the Gospel are emphasized. 💡 Remember: Denominations are made by humans, but salvation is only in Jesus Christ.
