Read; Romans 6:14
We died to sin when we called on Jesus' name in baptism and put our trust in Him to save us. Because we believe in Jesus and God's power, we die to dying and pass from death to life in this death (John 5:24; Col. 2:12). Our lives are joined to Jesus', and we share in His glorious future (Col. 3:1-4). We are not ruled by the law, but by grace. Let's respond to God's gift of grace with a strong desire to be holy and a lot of passion. Let's be open to being changed by the Holy Spirit, who makes us more like Jesus (2 Cor. 3:18). We are children of grace. We are not slaves to sin, but by God's grace, we are free to be all that He has made us to be (Eph. 2:1-10). Sin will not be in charge of us!
Prayer
Cleanse my heart, dear LORD and Father, and make it new and alive to Your grace and dead to the sin that used to bind me. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
