Coming late to church may not be directly written in the Bible as a sin, but it reveals the state of your heart toward God. When you truly value someone, you don't keep them waiting. The same applies to our God. You as a Christian arriving late to God presence show carelessness, lack of discipline, or misplaced priorities.
When you come late to service, you often miss the opening prayer, and anytime you miss the opening prayer, you have missed the blessing that God released at beginning of the service. The opening prayer sets the atmosphere for God's presence, it is where hearts are opened and blessings are released.
Some people are never late for work, school, or meetings, but they always late to church. That reveal where their true honor lies.

If the church could speak, it would say :
You come early for your job, but late for your God.
You prepare your clothes for work, but you are rush for worship.
You value your salary, but forget your saviour.
EACH TIME YOU MISS THE OPENENING PRAYER, YOU MISSED THE BLESSINGS IN OPENENING PRAYER.

The report from the Head ushers said that one major reason many people sleep during church service is because they come to church late, they rush on the road, enter the church tired and breathless, and by the time the word starts, they begin to doze off.

If we prepare early, arrived calmly, and joined from the start, we would stay more refreshed and connected through the service.
Coming to church early shows Love, Respect, and Hunger for God's presence. Make it your goal to arrive before the first prayer begins. Don't keep God waiting, He is always on time for you.
