Faith Beyond Labels: Navigating Christian Identity and Denominational Choice.

Thank you for your thoughtful questions. I’ll try to respond as honestly and respectfully as I can.

1. Remaining Christian while being SDA:

Absolutely, being a Christian is first and foremost about following Christ, not necessarily about denominational affiliation. SDA teachings are one interpretation of Scripture; one can still be a faithful Christian even if they do not fully align with all SDA doctrines. Christianity is broader than any single denomination.

2. Regarding advice to quit publicly:

No one forced me to announce anything; my decision was personal and came from a place of reflection. For me, sharing the journey publicly was a way to be transparent and possibly help others who might wrestle with similar questions. It’s not about creating division or criticism, but about being honest about my spiritual path.

3. Purpose of announcing:

My goal is not to “gain” anything in a worldly sense. It’s to provide clarity, share insights, and foster honest dialogue about faith journeys. Sometimes silence can unintentionally create confusion, especially when friends and family are invested in your spiritual life.

4. Social networks and ministry:

I agree that relationships and connections are valuable. I still maintain Christian fellowship and connections online and offline. Leaving SDA does not mean leaving Christ or the broader community of believers. My hope is that honesty strengthens trust and encourages thoughtful conversation rather than weakening relationships.

At the core, this is about aligning my personal faith with conscience and Scripture, while continuing to love and respect all believers. We should learn to love the unlovable, emphasizing unity in diversity. Peace to you as well.
