THE ADVENT TRUTH
Many Christians think God’s health laws were “just for the Jews.” But the Bible says otherwise. Long before Sinai, Noah already knew which animals were clean and unclean (Genesis 7:2). These weren’t ceremonial rules — they were creation principles meant to protect life and reflect God’s holiness.
Leviticus 17:10-14 says, “The life of the flesh is in the blood.” God commanded His people not to eat blood or fat (Leviticus 3:16-17; 7:23-25). Why? Because both carry danger — physically and spiritually. Blood is the body’s filter for disease, waste, and infection. Modern science confirms that many illnesses are blood-borne pathogens — viruses, bacteria, and toxins that circulate through the bloodstream of diseased animals. When people eat meat with the blood still in it, they’re taking in what God warned them to avoid thousands of years ago.
And God also said not to eat the fat — not because He’s strict, but because He’s loving. Animal fat clogs arteries, raises cholesterol, and fuels heart disease, strokes, and type-2 diabetes, which are among the leading killers today. The fat that ancient Israel placed on the altar symbolized sin being consumed by God’s fire — a reminder that the “fat of the land” belongs to the Lord, not to us.
God’s laws aren’t about legalism — they’re about love. The same Lord who gave moral laws to protect our souls gave health laws to protect our bodies. 1 Corinthians 6:19 says your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. If the temple was defiled in the Old Testament, it had to be cleansed. The same is true today.
Following God’s health laws isn’t old covenant bondage — it’s new covenant obedience. When we honor His design, we show that His wisdom still reigns above human appetite.
