Isaiah 7:10-17 Exploring NKJV

Isaiah 7:10-17 Moreover the LORD spoke again to Ahaz, saying,

"Ask a sign for yourself from the LORD your God; ask it either in the depth or in the height above."

But Ahaz said, "I will not ask, nor will I test the LORD!"

Then he said, "Hear now, O house of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also?

"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

"Curds and honey He shall eat, that He may know to reuse the evil and choose the good.

"For before the Child shall know to refuse the evil and choose the good, the land that you dread will be forsaken by both her kings.

"The LORD will bring the king of Assyria upon you and your people and your father's house--days that have not come since the day that Ephraim departed from Judah."

Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given: And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end,

Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever, The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Isaiah 8:1-4 Moreover the LORD said to me, "Take a large scroll, and write on it with a man's pen concerning Maher-Shalal-Hash-=Baz.

"And I will take for Myself faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah."

Then I went to the prophetess, and she conceived and bore a son. The the LORD said to me, "Call his name Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz;

"for before the child shall have knowledge to cry 'My father' and 'My mother,' the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria will be taken away before the king of Assyria."

Habakkuk 2:1-3 I will stand my watch And set myself on a rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected.

The LORD answered me and said; "Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it,

For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.
