Searching For Hope CSB
Hebrews 6:4-6 For it is impossible to renew to repentance those who were once enlightened, who tasted the heavenly gift, who shared in the Holy Spirit,
who tasted God's good word and the powers of the coming age,
and who have fallen away. This is because, to their own harm, they are recrucifying the Son of God and holding him up to contempt.
An Oath By Someone Who Can't Lie
Hebrews 6:9-20 Even tough we are speaking this way, dearly loved friends, in your case we are confident of things that are better and that pertain to salvation.
For God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you demonstrated for his name by serving the saints--and by continuing to serve them.
Now we desire each of you to demonstrate the same diligence for the full assurance of your hope until the end,
so that you won't become lazy but will be imitators of those who inherit the promises through faith and perseverance.
Inheriting The Promise
For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater to swear by, he swore by himself;
I will indeed bless you, and I will greatly multiply you.
And so, after waiting patiently, Abraham obtained the promise.
For people swear by something greater than themselves, and for them a confirming oath ends every dispute.
But because God wanted to show his unchangeable purpose even more clearly to the heirs of the promise, he guaranteed it with an oath,
so that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to seize the hope set before us.
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.
Jesus has entered there on our behalf as a forerunner, because he has become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
Greeting
Our Hope Is in Jesus
1 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our savior and of Christ Jesus our hope;
A Living Hope
1 Peter 1:3-10 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead
and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.
You are being guarded by God's power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
You rejoice in this, even though now for a short time, if necessary, you suffer grief in various trails
so that the proven character of faith--more value than gold which, though perishable, is refined by fire--may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Though you have not seen him, you love him; though not seeing him now, you believe in him, and you rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy,
because you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who prophesied about the grace that would come to you, searched and carefully investigated.
Thanksgiving- the hope reserved for you in heaven
Colossians 1:3-10 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you,
for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints
because of the hope reserved for you in heaven. You have already heard about this hope in the word of truth, the gospel
that has come to you. It is bearing fruit and growing all over the world, just as it has among you since the day you heard and came to truly appreciate God's grace.
You learned this from Epaphras, our dearly loved fellow servant. He is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf,
and he has told us about your love in the Spirit.
Prayer For Spiritual Growth
For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven't stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,
so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him; bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God,
This hope will not disappoint us - Abraham had it
