Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Yesterday I heard a story that really hit home. I want to share it with you today.

A group of college students went out for dinner one night. They had agreed to pool their money so that they could all go. They ordered the appetizers, more than enough for everyone, and their drinks. They all ordered their desired meal and enjoyed it in the company of their friends. The laughter and stories, the roasting and playful nature; it all overshadowed what the prices were for all the meals. Time for dessert, and they ordered along with refills on their drink. The time that they had in that restaurant was a memory they would all share for a lifetime. Amidst the hard semester of classes and projects, they needed this moment. Then the check came.

This entire time of ordering, eating, and drinking … the cost of their meal never came to mind. The amount of money that they were spending was not calculated in their choices. Now, these college students were summarizing how much each should have to pay. This one only had one shrimp; this one did not eat any guacamole; another only had a salad and no dessert…the debate continued. As the group debated and discussed HOW to pay the bill, one friend at the end of the table used his credit card and paid the bill in full. No one at the table noticed. They were all too focused on their responsibility and how much they should pay, to notice that the friend at the head of the table and covered them all.

Throughout life, we spend so much time looking at people, places, or circumstances that we lose sight of WHO has already been there, done that, and paid for it all. WE are too busy trying to negotiate our portion of the bill, that we forget that He has already paid it forward to us.

This analogy is not mine. It was not given to me by Him, but through another of his messengers. However, as I listened to them speak, I was drawn in so much that I needed to share it with you.

We need to not allow the enemy the entry way to our thoughts and choices by blaming, or assigning responsibility, for the bill…we need to know that we all are responsible … equally … however, our bill has been paid in full.

Be blessed today my friends.

***I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with jewels. – Isaiah 61:10
