“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” -Matthew 6:33
Thought Of The Day...
In a world that constantly pushes us to chase success, money, possessions, and recognition, Jesus gives us a life-changing command: “Seek first the kingdom of God.” This isn’t just a suggestion—it’s a divine priority.
To “seek” means to pursue with intention and desire. It calls for a continual, daily choice to place God’s will, His ways, and His Word above everything else. The kingdom of God is not about earthly things—it’s about God’s rule and reign in your heart and life. When His righteousness becomes your pursuit, peace and provision follow naturally.
So often, we seek the addition before the alignment. But Jesus reminds us: when we align our hearts with God’s will, the blessings we need—whether it’s peace, provision, strength, or direction—are added by Him. God doesn’t withhold good things from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11).
The key is not striving for more but surrendering more. The moment you make God first—above work, relationships, and ambitions—you position yourself under the open windows of heaven. The blessings you’ve been praying for don’t have to be chased—they’ll find you as you walk in obedience and faith.
Something to Think About...
• What does “seeking first the kingdom” look like in your daily life?
• Are there areas where you’ve placed your own priorities above God’s?
• How can you make time each day to seek God through prayer, the Word, and obedience?
Kingdom Principle
When you make God your first pursuit, He makes your needs His responsibility.
Prayer...
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding me that You are my greatest priority. Teach me to seek You above all else—not just for what You can give, but for who You are. Help me to align my heart with Your will and trust that everything I need will be added in Your perfect timing. Remove distractions that pull me away from Your presence. Today, I choose to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Reign in my life, Lord, and let everything I do bring glory to Your name.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Declaration
“Today, I seek first the kingdom of God. I walk in His righteousness, and everything I need will be added unto me!”
