1 John 4:4-6 Exploring The Way
1 John 4:4-6 Dear young friends, you belong to God and have already won your fight with those who are against Christ, because there is someone in your hearts who is stronger than an evil teacher in this wicked world.
These men belong to this world, so, quite naturally, they are concerned about worldly affairs and the world pays attention to them.
But we are children of God; that is why only those who have walked and talked with God will listen to us. Other's won't. That is another way to know weather a message is really from God; for if it is, the world won't listen to it.
John 14:25-31 I am telling you these things now while I am still with you.
But when the Father sends the Comforter instead of me--and by the Comforter I mean the Holy Spirit--he will teach you much, as well as remind you of everything I myself have told you.
"I am leaving you with a gift--peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn't fragile like the peace the world gives.. So don't be troubled or afraid.
Remember what I told you--I am going away, but I will come back for you again. If you really loved me, you will be very happy for me, for now I can go to the Father, who is greater than I am.
I have told you these things before they happen so that when they do, you will believe [in me].
"I don't have much more time to talk to you, for the evil prince of this world approaches. He has no power over me,
but I will freely do what the Father requires of me so that the world will know that I love the Father. Come, let's be going.
John 3:31-36 "He has come from heaven and is greater than anyone else. I am of the earth, and my understanding is limited to the things of the earth.
He tells what he has seen and heard, but how few believe what he tells them!
Those who believe him discover that God is a fountain of truth.
For this one--sent by God--speaks God's words, for God's spirit is upon him without measure or limit.
The Father loves this man because he is his Son, and God has given him everything there is.
And all who trust him--God's Son-- to save them have eternal life; those who don't believe and obey him shall never see heaven, but the wrath of God remains upon them."
1 Corinthians 2:12-16 And God has actually given us his Spirit (not the world's spirit) to tell us about the wonderful free gifts of grace and blessing that God has given us.
In telling you about these gifts we have even used the very words given to us by the Holy Spirit, not the words that we as men might choose. So we use the Holy Spirit's words to explain the Holy Spirit's facts.
But the men who isn't a Christian can't understand and can't accept these thoughts from God, which the Holy Spirit teaches us. They sound foolish to him, because only those who have the Holy Spirit within them can understand what the Holy Spirit means. Others just can't take it in.
But the spiritual man has insight into everything, and that bothers and baffles the man of the world, who can't understand him at all.
How can he? For certainly he has never been one to know the Lord's thoughts, or to discuss them with him, or to move the hands of God by prayer. But, strange as it seems, we Christians actually do have within us a portion of the very thoughts and mind of Christ.
